Life in th 1st City

SO, I have not been regukar in posting a new entry on our blog. Along with the typical moving into a new house projects, here is a quick look at what we've been doing over the past 4 weeks in the First City.

1. Remodeled our basement, improving family function and yet still allowing for plenty of out of town visitor space..hint, hint.
2. Attended our subdivision's 4th of July bbq/pool party, complete with water balloon toss and pool football. A greased watermelon acts as the football(this is strictly a male event with only 1 female participating, because it gets pretty ugly.) She was a trooper! All the fun in the sun excitement was followed by an awesome display of illegal fireworks in "The Cul de Sac", all thanks to the fair states of Florida,Alabama and New Mexico.
3. Numerous spend the nights and playdates for the kiddos. Including 2 bday parties for Girl #1.
4. We've met dozens of neighbors and potential babysitters (all good).
5. Our Boy did tennis camp and met a bunch of other boys in the s.d.
6.Dinner with neighbors, hosting and being hosted.
7. LOTS of swimming.
8. Lil Girl stopped wearing pull ups at night.
9. Girl #1 lost a front tooth, lost it in the car and then found it 4 days later in the car.
10. Lil Girl learned to swim: nofloaties or turtle shell suit and now she is officially a fish we can't get out of the water!
11. Family Vacation to Branson Missouri (look for a post in a few days with the highlights).
12. We have crossed the Mississippi (yes, I sang the song to spell it correctly) River 3 times none of the times through Mississippi, crossed the Ohio River where it dumps into the Mighty Miss. along with literally dozens of other rivers and lakes that I couldn't begin to try and count. I honestly did not know there were so many bodies of water in these here parts.

All in all, it has been exciting, fun, busy and very very surreal.

All proper names have not been used in order to prtect the guilty. Hee Hee

When Moving

This is a copy of an email I sent out in April. Since my reefs came in handy last night(4th of July) I thought it fitting to post here for those who didn't see it the first time or those who need a laugh! Original with spelling errors and all.

Friedns and Family,As most of you know we are moving to Atlanta Georgia(Alpharetta to be exact). The movers came today and boxed up nearly all ourbelongings in one day...it was to take two days.So I am writing this little email to keep you allabreast of our moving saga...oops journey! As I was winding down my night and reflecting on theday and how emotional it was watching 4 people pack upour home of nearly 9 years in just hours,I thought oftwo things everyone must have when moving.A three year old and a pair of Reef sandals.A three year old to make you laugh (although I wasn'tlaughing when it happened)... by overflowing thetoilet with 1/2 fresh roll of toilet paper for asimple"pee pee" adventure to the bathroom. And 20minutes later throwing all the pool toys, goggles etc.into the pool after I had just swam to the bottom ofthe pool and retrieved them early that day. I hadsince showered and changed into fresh clothes. You can say we are a family of 4 now!!!! :)

And my reefs.... as I grab the last bottle of Pete'sWicked Strawberry Blonde Ale from my desertedrefrigerator, I realize that all the bottle openersetc are packed.... Yes, packed...everytihng boxed, taped, labeled. As I hang my head down in disappointment andfrustration I realize I am wearing my reef sandalsgiven to me by my husband last summer. One of the fewpairs of shoes not boxed, taped and labeled...probably because I was wearing them. Do you know what is on the bottom of reef sandals?A bottle opener!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you hun.If my grammer is incorrect and spelling atrocious wllit's 11:20 at night atnd my Strawberry blonde is gone!Enjoy your day!Catherine
