Where were you?

Seven years have gone buy in a flash.  It seems unreal that the attacks on America happened 7 years ago.  I remember John waking me up at some ungodly time of the morning to tell me that a plane crashed into the World Trade Center.  In my half daze and disbelief  that it could be anything but an accident I said, "What an idiot!".  Obviously implying some 1/2 brained man flying into the building.  It was a minute later when he came back in our room and said, "Bub, another one crashed".  I sprang out of bed to the TV.  In the back of my mind I new it was intentional and probably a terrorist but it was still hard to believe.  I was waiting for the "coming soon to theatres" logo, as this had to be just a giant marketing trick for the next blockbuster film.  As more and more footage was being shown, I too was numb like the rest of America watching the disbelief of the moment.  It was a Moms Club Park day.  I walked S (2 1/2) and M.(2 months) to Koch Park with a sony walkman radio.  I remember there were only 3 of us there that day.  Maybe it was Kim or Fida but I remember Brenda specifically.  I didn't know her real well at that point and she was very stressed and nervous about her husband working on a consult job in the DC area.  She heard from him that morning and he was okay , for the moment. The whole day was in slow motion and life seemed to be at a stand still.  There is not much else I remember about that day specifically.  With a new born all days seem to be blended into one.  I can recall days, weeks and months following where all Americans united in sorrow and pride for our Nation.  So today I'd like to ask each of you to post your message of where were you on 9/11?  Also, I've uploaded a picture from our local high school and their tribute to those who died that day.

I was getting 3 of the 4 kids ready for school that morning when a dear friend called to tell me to turn my tv onto a news channel that a plane just crashed into one of the towers. I changed the tv from cartoons to an unbelievable picture and within minutes the other plane hit.....could not believe what I was watching. What was going on??? Proceeded to watch in horror and hung on the phone witht the friend as we decided to call the school to see if the would be open, they were and proceeded to get everyone out the door. As I recall the older ones watched it on tv at school as I did when I returned home that morning. I remember President Bush's address and listened in horror that this was indeed a terrorist attack on America....all I could do was watch the faces of those running the streets of New York, the grey ash everywhere, truly saddened by the sight of it all.
I still shudder at the thought of the impossible becoming the possible. I feel truly blessed everyday for the men and women who continue to fight to keep us safe. My thoughts, prayers, and blessings to all who put their lives on that fine line everyday to keep America safe.
God Bless America.
