Halloween

So, this had to be one of the best Halloweens we've ever had. For years we have gone to a church sponsored Harvest party complete with bounce houses, carnival games, food, candy, music and friendly neighbors.  Here in the SD tradition is to have a parade down the main street and then start trick or treating.  In the middle of the SD is a Halloween party on the front yard, with hotdogs, chili, soup, food, candy and a bon fire.  Kids and families can stop and socialize with other neighbors while having a bite to eat. S. ran off as soon as the parade began.  M. and a few friends with N. and another mom took the golf cart around trick or treating and visiting with neighbors.  It was all so wholesome and fun.  Except J. scaring the kids who came to our door by lying in wait in the dark spot of our front porch.  Husbands never grow up.  I've decided this year to not ration the candy and let them go gang busters snacking away. Fortunately their heap is almost gone and the added "hoopla" of candy eating and sharing is almost behind us. Hoping all of yours had a Happy Halloween.
