S. is still in cub scouts. I am not. My lack of involvement has been hard on me but was much needed. I miss all the great boys and families I met in Ptown during scouts. He is playing Upward basketball again this year and doing fabulous. He also has been taking tennis lessons. School is great. He really enjoys it and for the most part is doing great. That means he is not trying to be class clown anymore. He still loves legos, Wii and now You Tube. I am constantly searching for my camera and inevitably I find little videos he's made on the memory card. None posted as of yet.
M. is in Brownies in which I am a co leader. There are 3 of us moms who stepped up to the challenge, yes cub scouts has come in handy. Although the girls don't respond as well to the push up rule for the last person to raise their"quiet sign" during meetings. Perhaps 2009 will inspire me to come up with something new. Brownies has been quite fun since 9 of the girls live in our subdivision. Academically M. has been doing great and we couldn't be more proud of her continued effort in school. She was doing the after school gymnastics class but the instructor wasn't good. She really enjoys tennis and it is now making me consider taking lessons too. Yikes!
N. Although the move has been hardest on her, she loves school and all her new friends she has made there. She is continuing with dance this year and again loves it. I new when at the age of 13 months she stopped in the living room to dance to old 50's music and she was really shaking her booty that she would always love to dance. We still spend 3 days a week together although it is probably not much fun for her since errands and projects with the move keep us busy doing mommy things. Luckily she likes cleaning.
J. He has been doing great with his new position. Probably the biggest challenge is getting used to being in an office again. It has been 11 years of him in outside sales. He says the commute is worth it as he loves the area we live in, as do I. Travel has taken him away form home more than anticipated but 2009 should keep him here more, so he too can play tennis on our mens tennis team.
Tessa our new dog has been such a blessing for us and a lot of fun. N. handles her the best. Our cat Brownie is now 17 years old. Other than being thin, she is great and doesn't want to play with Tessa despite what Tessa thinks.
Wishing you all many blessing through 2009 and may our paths cross despite the 2164 miles of distance.
